Hymenoplasty

This procedure reconstructs the hymen. The hymen often plays an extremely important role in certain cultures, religions or simply for social reasons. The aim of this procedure is to make the patient appear virginal and allow some bleeding to occur upon vaginal penetration. This procedure is most successful in patients who have not had prior vaginal deliveries. This procedure typically takes 30 minutes and may be performed as an office procedure or in an outpatient surgical center.
